CONTENTS

Apart from this README file, the contents of the DVD are:

    - “Bare_Earth” – Contains grid and info folders associated with Esri digital elevation models of bare earth lidar data. Metadata for all data are embedded in grid folders as Esri FGDC metadata in xml format.

    - "Highest_Hit” – Contains grid and info folders associated with Esri digital elevation models of bare earth lidar data. Metadata for all data are embedded in grid folders as Esri FGDC metadata in xml format. 

    - "Intensity" - Contains geoTIFF files associated with intensity images derived from highest hit lidar returns. Metadata for all data are embedded in TIFF header as Esri FGDC metadata in xml format. Some intensity files have been compressed using .zip format for space requirements. 

    - "Metadata_XML" - XML formatted metadata files listing FGDC metadata for lidar dataset. Lidar contractor's project data report is included.

    - "Shapefiles" – Esri format geometry files of 7.5-minute USGS quadrangles of Oregon, 1/100th USGS quadrangles of Oregon, as well as 7.5-minute quadrangle shapefiles delineating 2008, 2009-2010, and 2010 data extents.

    - “about-LDQ-poster-11x17in.pdf" – PDF document contains explanation of USGS tiling schemes associated with Oregon Lidar Consortium data as well general information concerning lidar data. Data collected outside the Oregon Lidar Consortium may not follow the same tiling scheme. In such instances, the non-OLC standard scheme is provided in shapefile format.

To view data files:

All data are format specific to Esri GIS format. Data must be viewed using specialty software capable of viewing .shp, geoTIFF, and Esri grid formats.

Note: Data projection information can be located within each embedded raster metadata file (.prj). Lidar data collected through the Oregon Lidar Consortium are projected to Oregon Statewide Lambert, NAD83 (HARN), international feet. Some discs include data collected by other groups/agencies, and these data may use a variety of projections. To preserve the original data integrity, such data are provided in their original projection. Users may need to perform transformations and/or other processes in order to properly mosaic such data.
