Metadata
Metadata ("data about data") files for the Oregon Geologic Data Compilation - release 3 (OGDC-3) data set provide technical information on the sources of data, how the data are organized, how the data were processed, the spatial referencing of the data, the quality of the data, and the potential uses of the data. Metadata enable a user to determine the suitability of the data for the user's needs.
You can view the metadata in any of the following formats. The information is same regardless of format.

- text file (.txt)
- extensible markup language file (.xml)
